Professional Practice in the AI Era Training

A Research-Grounded Training Initiative on Responsible AI Use in Regulated Professions

Overview:

  • This project is a direct extension of my doctoral research on the responsible use of AI in organizational contexts, moving from theory to practice, and from the academic literature to the professionals who navigate these questions daily.

  •  Funded by the Future Skills Centre and developed in partnership with IVADO and four of Quebec's professional orders — the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés (CRHA), the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ), the Barreau du Québec, and the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés (CPA Québec) — the project set out to develop pedagogical tools and resources to support professionals in integrating AI responsibly into their practice. It is one of the first initiatives in Canada to ground this kind of professional training in an active academic research framework.

My Role

  • Principal Investigators: Pierre-Majorique Léger (HEC Montréal) and Réjean Roy (IVADO)
  •  Co-Investigators: Marion Korosec-Serfaty and Sylvain Sénécal (HEC Montréal)
  • As co-Investigator, I contributed across all phases of the project, from proposal development to final content delivery. I co-wrote the grant application, facilitated roundtables with partner professional orders to identify priority needs in the field, and led the data collection effort, including conducting and analyzing more than 60 interviews with academic experts and practicing professionals. I then translated these findings into pedagogical content, coordinated production, and served as the on-screen presenter for the video modules.

 The Training

  • Free,  four-hour self-paced training program with a self-diagnostic tool.
  • Designed for professionals who want to understand how to integrate AI into their practice in a thoughtful and responsible way.
  • Draws on contributions from nearly 30 researchers, experts, and practitioners from the IVADO ecosystem, organized into four blocks:
    • Block 1 — Professional stance and responsibility in the age of AI
    • Block 2 — Getting ready to use AI: understand to act knowledgeably
    • Block 3 — In practice: using AI responsibly
    • Block 4 — Rethinking practices: AI's impact on professions and collective responsibilities

  • An attestation of completion issued by Tech3Lab | HEC Montréal is awarded upon finishing the program and may be used toward continuing professional development hours where applicable.
  • The program is grounded in an academic research framework. Anonymized participation data contributes to ongoing research on the responsible use of AI by professionals.
